Links on this page go to the Archive of Our Own; if the fic was originally posted elsewhere, I also provide mirror links to the pages on which they were first posted.

If you would like to create fanart, record podfic, do a translation, or remix any of my fic in whatever way, feel free to do so; you don't have to ask permission, though I would love to be linked to the finished product.

It occurs to me I should post this to all platforms, so: I'm checking in from the greater Boston area, and I'm absolutely fine, as are many of my friends who have also checked in. I'm terrified I'm forgetting someone, though, so if you're Boston-adjacent, please let me know you're okay. <333

Hey internets! I am aware that my gmail has been hacked! I apologize for it having sent probably many of you spam; I was able to get in and change my password, so hopefully that should be the last of it. (Though this might finally make me give google my phone number even though it asks so creepily. Boo.)

It occurs to me that I'm using the AO3 as my fic-posting platform these days; I usually forget to crosspost, and it's nice to have comments consolidated in one place. So this is a drive-by PSA to let everyone know that I won't be posting fic to [personal profile] ariafic anymore, though I'm not taking down any of the fic that's there. Unless and until the next drastic platform shift, fic gets linked to the AO3, and also posted to my master fic list, which is now a sticky post on this journal, because I like organizing things.

Because I am procrastinating on my last two giftfics, this seems like the opportune moment to do something useful that I have seen various of my rlist doing, and compile a list of places I can be found on the internet. And so:

[personal profile] aria
[livejournal.com profile] ariastar (which these days I mostly use as a feed & for comm posting)
[archiveofourown.org profile] Aria/[personal profile] ariafic
[tumblr.com profile] thedaisiestdaisy
[twitter.com profile] dearmelee
and email/gchat at ariastar [at] gmail.com

And I would list my delicious, but eh; I keep debating a move to Pinboard but would rather avoid indulging my compulsive need to organize that would inevitably result. Anyway, I think that covers most of the bases!

Meanwhile, excitement for Yuletide rising. :DDD

For reasons passing understanding (or, really, because [livejournal.com profile] filia_belialis texted me to ask if I had a twitter yet, and Amelia possesses EVIL MIND POWERS or something) I have a twitter now! Twitter is cool! Twitter is probably only cool like bowties are cool.

In any case, I am [twitter.com profile] dearmelee (for reasons, mostly that both daisiestdaisy and every variation on aria that I liked were already taken) and I would like to be twitter buddies, or whatever it is that you kids do on twitter. Tell me who you are!

Also: A Softer Universe, tumblr repository for the Doctor Who Softer World remixes I've been doing, mostly because I compulsively organize things. New ones will also be posted here, for those of you who don't care about tumblr.

Okay, guys, I caved. I have a tumblr now! Tumblrs are cool.

I am thedaisiestdaisy cos, um, naturally my tumblr will be an oldschool Doctor Who reference about joy and optimism. As you do. Those of you with tumblrs, tell me what they are! Rec your favorites! And if someone has mysteriously started following you on tumblr, it is perhaps me!

Brb, reblogging EVERYTHING.

Involuntary hiatus already over, because of the world's fastest ninja lightning IT guys.

My hard drive was completely eaten by spybots, apparently [and the second I return to LJ, my computer finds and destroys its first trojan of the new hard drive! COINCIDENCE I THINK NOT; urge to leave entirely: rising]. So far the casualties seem to be minimal thanks to the wonder of external hard drives -- I think the only thing I need to go into deep mourning for is Firefox's browse history, although the jury's still out on iTunes.

Unrelatedly, we're supposed to get lots of snow tonight! YAY.

Life is kind of absurd.

Aaaand my computer is officially borked. It now has fake virus protection popups every five seconds in addition to all the other ways it was glitching, so tomorrow morning I am taking it in. I am addicted enough to reading my flist/rlist that I will try to keep apace, but I am on unofficial hiatus until my computer is fixed.

Oh, for fuck's sake, LiveJournal. (She says, crossposting.) LJ's interstitial advertising is putting your computer at risk for malware. And here I was wondering why my computer had suddenly contracted pop-ups, why my legit malware detector had caught a trojan, and why my computer is suddenly incapable of opening PDF files. (This last might be a different issue entirely, of course. This laptop is nearly four years old.) Things seem to be behaving now, and I've backed up all my files, but this is just ridiculous.

This brings me to link #2, which is a great list of reasons to move to Dreamwidth. Obviously I still use LJ, but I use it in an incidental supplementary way, and I have DW codes going spare. Come hang out over here! WE DON'T HAVE FUCKING MALWARE.

And on a completely different note, because it cracked me up, link the third: http://www.isitmofftiemnao.com/ BEST. :D

Okay, here is a real first entry!

I decided not to import my entire LJ here, mostly because there is something vastly relieving about not having a journal that starts with my freshman year of high school (but instead the summer before my senior year of undergrad; I'm sure it will be just as embarrassing in a couple of years).

I'll be using this journal in basically the same way I used the LJ: fandom talk, real life talk, talking-with-people, &c. One of the nifty things about Dreamwidth, though, is the seriously wonderful access/subscription feature: not only does the loaded word 'friend' come into it nowhere, but it makes organising things a lot easier -- such as this thing I want to try where I'm going to more or less divide up the fandom talk and the real life talk. The idea of separate real life and fandom journals hurts both my head and soul, because there is probably no way I will ever be able to actually separate real life from the fannishly tinged, but I think I can probably at least get away with an unlocked-locked dichotomy. The unlocked content will therefore be reviews and meta and silly picspams and links and fic; the locked content will be all the real life stuff (at the moment, mostly job and grad school dithering). If you're just here for the fannish stuff, feel free to subscribe and lurk happily away; if you want to know me and my dithering real life ways, come say hi.

I know pretty much everyone subscribed to me right now is a refugee from my LJ flist -- so I'd love to take a headcount. LOOK A HEADCOUNT POLL.

If your content is mirrored from LJ, I will probably filter you off my default flist and read you over here instead; no matter what you are doing, if you are using Dreamwidth as a reading list in any way, feel free filter me off your default flist also and read me here instead.

I think that's all the housekeeping right now. Guys, isn't this place still shiny?
