the road that they walk on is paved in gold

Went to a wedding last night; had a fantastic time; had to actively refrain from doing Eleven's stupid flail-arms-wildly-above-head dance.

Speaking of Eleven, and how I am still married to the idea that Benedict Cumberbatch should play the Master, I even have some photographic evidence for my argument, namely this picture of both of them with Moffat. All three of them look hilariously awkward, but -- look at Smith and Cumberbatch's strange, strange faces! It is MEANT TO BE, I say.

(Aside: further wiki tabs now open for the purposes of Methos fic include crucifixion and a map of the Roman Empire circa 117 AD. Oh self. Get a new favourite character, one who hopefully doesn't require research on death by crucifixion.)

Benedict is so obviously the Master it is not funny. (Well, actually it is hilarious. But yes, he is the Master.)

Would it not be awesome if Benedict played the original young Master. Koschei, right after leaving school and Gallifrey and being all young and non-linear? With none of the issues with the Doctor (or Theta) that his later selves would have? And still being Master-ish and arrogant and twisted, but not yet seeing the Doctor as anything but the only friend he has ever trusted?

Would this not be the most agonizing thing ever for the Doctor to deal with? And for Koschei, once he found out that they were future enemies? Wouldn't he move the universe to change that (and probably fuck everything up in the process)?

I have to stop. I am bunnying myself.

OKAY.

(But...er...let me finish writing my medieval-steampunk-with-robots first? Is for ficathon.)

Oooh. That would be a neat story.

I am also behind Cumberbatch for the Master. *nods*

He could go work on Doctor Who until Moffat has time to give us the full season of Sherlock! It's a stunning plan of great genius.

(Denial is so lovely this time of year. I think I'll build a summer home here.)

Just watched the first episode of Sherlock, and give about a million thumbs up to the idea of him as the Master. He's one of those people who I wasn't all that in favor of at the beginning of the episode -- but by the end, I was way, way on board. I can see him as the Master quite easily!
