For New Year's Eve I convened with many local friends, all of whom had drawn up D&D characters, and we chose characters at random in order to play an all-night campaign. My first character got red shirted and died in literally the first thirty seconds; my next character, a pixie barbarian named Tankerbelle, survived the night and was incredibly fun to play. Now we're making brunch, and will probably play yet more D&D!

For Yuletide this year, I wrote Exorcist fic! Batter My Heart, Marcus/Tomas. I loved writing it, and I want to write so much more Exorcist fic now. (Like, WHAT IF I WRITE THIRD SEASON, is more or less where I have landed on wanting to write more Exorcist fic, of fucking course I have.)

Your fic is so great! I had a brief, intense romance with the Exorcist season two about a year ago and still have a lot of feelings about the two of them, and about how stellar John Cho and Li Jun Li were in it.

Also, I've just googled to see what Li Jun Li is up to now and she's about it be in something called Wu Assassins with Katheryn Winnick from Vikings, which sounds like a show I may need to watch!

It was! Like, it was also thirteen people + the DM so it was ABSOLUTE MADNESS, would not recommend doing except for special occasions, but it was great as a one-off.

Ahhh thank you! My s3 thoughts are currently: gotta finish rewatching s2, gotta figure out what I want to do narratively with Mouse, gotta figure out how I can engineer Tomas and Marcus kissing early enough in the fic for everything to be a huge disaster for as long as possible. :DDD

Hah I could probably take a pic of the character sheet for you! But really it's what it sounds like: she was very small and had a proportional-to-her greataxe and did more damage per turn than anyone else in the game. TINY BALL OF RAGE.

GASP okay so the thing about the Exorcist is: first season is a competent fanfic set in the same world as the original film; second season is phenomenal television and also terrifying; one of the two priests who are the main characters is canonically queer, and the other one is played by Hernando from Sense8 so I keep forgetting he is not also canonically queer, and their relationship is fascinating, and the show doesn't really ship them but it also ... doesn't not ship them, and I don't recall if horror tv is your thing but if it is you should ABSOLUTELY watch it, it's on hulu and everything :D

... well at the moment I mostly want to start yelling because the show was CANCELLED after THAT SEASON ENDING?? But ... Father Bennett! (I love him a lot.) Somebody needs to save him! And poor Marcus deserves a whole lot of loving, someone (probably Tomas) should get on that.

Also tbh I'd really like to check in with (real, not evil hallucination) Casey and Kat.
