avengers: the stupid crossovers edition
Last night, after Polaris' and my second Avengers viewing, we held a small impromptu fanpeople party that over the course of the evening whittled itself down to me, Polaris,
paper_tzipporah, and an impressive amount of wine.
"You know what the problem is?" I said, waving my glass like I was doing improv impressions of sloshed Crowley, "The problem is that Thor really needs a new strategy to get through to Loki!" Polaris had already heard about this, but
paper_tzipporah, who had not, said with great excitement, "What they need is couples' therapy! Britta Perry should give them couples' therapy!" We all laughed hysterically, and then laughed even more when we realized that even though Britta is sometimes the worst, we all suspect that she would actually succeed in helping Thor and Loki out with their issues.
Of course this spiraled into a discussion of what various Community characters would be up to in the Avengers universe; I don't think I'm ever going to actually write up any of these, but I thought I would least record them for posterity, and so:
+ Natasha and Clint, for reasons we didn't bother to figure out, are assigned to protect Troy and Abed. Maybe Abed knows important alien secrets or something! In any case, Abed and Natasha get on really well because they just hang out being quiet and badass and expressionless. Meanwhile Troy and Clint start playing ... probably pickup basketball because that's easy to do with only two people, and Clint starts teaching Troy to shoot a bow and arrow! Basically all four of them hang out and have a great time.
+ Shirley and Bruce hang out, also for reasons we didn't bother to figure out, mostly because they would understand each other so completely! They both have these veneers of affability masking INTENSE ANGER and I think they'd probably bake cupcakes together or something.
+ Steve gets stuck with Pierce because no one else will hang out with him. He doesn't like it much, and alas Pierce is juuuust too young for Steve to get his references.
+ Annie ends up being Fury's second at SHIELD or something, because Annie is badass and competent and would take to SHIELD like a total pro.
+ Fury has banned Chang from the premises and from this crossover. Not sorry, Chang.
+ For some reason Jeff is stuck with Tony, and he's freaking out because Tony is actually cooler than he'll ever be! Meanwhile the Dean is also there because, idk, the Dean just follows Jeff places, and then the Dean totally gets the hots for Tony instead, and Tony thinks that the Dean is hilarious and awesome and idk maybe the Dean becomes friends with Pepper or something and I just love the Dean a lot, okay? and also Tony and Pepper.
Anyway I still find this entertaining in the sober light of day, and so! That was an excerpt of my delightful evening.
