loads of buggerall, dear boy

CRYING LAUGHING.

... my whole flist seems to be in the throes of "OMG OMG SUPERNATURAL FINALE DSLGHJG!!!" And, since I've never seen the show and I have this weird love for reading fandom squee, even if I have no idea what it's talking about, I've spent the last few minutes reading a metric ton of spoilers for that show.

And... okay, thing is ... I don't particularly like televised violence, and I have this sort of vicious hate of horror movies that have exorcisms and the like. I mean, the Empty Child episode of last season's Doctor Who made me cower in a corner and make small distressed noises. ... On the other hand, what little of Buffy I've seen I've loved beyond all sanity, and that is rife with (admittedly mild) violence and weird things out of horror movies.

On the third mutant hand, Polaris tells me that I would probably hate Supernatural and hide in a corner from it, and she was the one who introduced me to both Doctor Who and Buffy, and she generally knows my tolerance levels for sheer freaky, so I should probably heed her.

Buuuut I am ridiculously shallow, and Jared Padalecki is way, way hotter than he has any right to be, and all of your squeeing is getting to me.
This is probably only screamingly hilarious to me (although for reals, guys, I had watched so little telly in a consistent way before Doctor Who that I did a lot of hiding behind couches, although mostly not because of Daleks) but I really love that I actually documented my internal debate over whether to watch Supernatural.

It was probably for the best that I didn't watch it then, as I've since become much, much better at taking care of myself when I watch something that upsets me, but -- I am a bit curious to visit the alternate timeline where I did start in 2006! Alternate me is such a Sam girl, because he had cute floppy hair and talks about his feelings. Alternate me is probably alarmed that I love Sam because he's kind of an evil overlord.

Anyway that is all quite silly, and since I should perhaps continue as I began, I'm going to talk about another ridiculous TV show! This one is Eternal Law, which I suspect was created when a bunch of producers got together, listed a lot of the concepts popular on TV right now, and then threw a dart at the list. The darts landed on ANGELS and LAWYERS, which -- why the hell not, I am so there!

I can't actually give anything like a proper review, because I've only seen the first ten minutes and then life interfered, but so far there has been lots of the city of York, a naive and totally adorakble angel named Tom who keeps trying to sing (he was in the heavenly choir!) and a long-suffering angel named Zak who is played by Sam West and has already said "bugger all," which -- I am not sure I have mentioned that in my Good Omens fantasy casting, Sam West absolutely plays Aziraphale? So now, even if he doesn't, my life is a little more complete.

You will have to let me know your feelings on Eternal Law because I am totally in the market for a show about Angels that fight crime. XD
