everybody wants to change the world

Now that I am doing an idle Lex-Luthor-bits-of-Smallville watch, and unsurprisingly shipping Clark/Lex like burning, I have had the same conversation with a handful of friends. It goes something like this:

ME. And I love Lex! Oh my god, I love Lex! But Clark is, uh ...
FRIEND. Boring?
ME. Yeah! And this is becoming a pattern. Like, okay, take Highlander --
FRIEND. You love Methos, but Duncan is boring?
ME. ...Yes. Or Star Tr --
FRIEND. You love Spock and Kirk is boring!
ME. You are a mind-reader!

...although I have had this conversation with three separate friends, so in this case it's probably just that my friends know me. Anyway, it led me to imagine what would happen if I just eliminated the things that are boring, which incidentally leaves me with the mental image of Methos, Spock, and Lex Luthor in a room together. I am a little worried they would clean up nice and then take over the goddamn world.

Of course, then my brain took "What could possibly be more awesome than Methos, Spock, and Lex Luthor in a room together??" as a challenge, and I hereby submit for consideration the notion of Nyota Uhura, Kara Thrace, Zoe Washburne, Susan Ivanova, and Cordelia Naismith going on space adventures together. That is what is more awesome.

Oh, well, Amanda is invited on the spaceship! She is just future!Amanda after she's lived a couple hundred more years. But I think we could probably get all the ladies on with the magic of time travel. :D

I really want to see something shipping at least two of the three of them, just out of perversity.

Hmm. I could totally see Methos/Lex! They would just be really underhanded and devious about the whole thing, and lie to each other a lot, and it would be a like a giant sexy game of chess! I could probably also see Methos/Spock: Spock would totally figure out Methos was an Immortal, and they would spend long evenings together with Spock quizzing Methos about Earth history and Methos being secretly delighted to have someone to ramble on at. And I guess Spock/Lex could happen FOR SCIENCE? They are the two I have the most difficulty imagining, though.

Time travel solves all problems. It's magical like that.

And now I really want to see both Methos/Lex and Methos/Spock. They would be SO GREAT. Giant sexy games of chess, and delighted rambling about history! YOU CAN'T GO WRONG.
