well this is absurd

Today is I think a good day for many YouTube links!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt sings 'Bad Romance'. And suddenly, without warning, I find him attractive! I have pretty much no idea why, although it is very possible that the joke about Hitchcock references and the willingness to sing Lady Gaga with great enthusiasm have something to do with it. Anyway, I have seen the light! Now, apropos of nearly nothing, I want all the Arthur fic. ALL OF IT.

How Inception should have ended. I usually kind of hate the 'how it should have ended' cartoons, but this one had me wheezing with laughter all the way through. I think it was because it actually used dream logic? Um, obviously, spoilers like crazy all over this.

A Study in Time, or, the trailer for a Sherlock/Doctor Who crossover. It's quite clever, and since I've only seen Sherlock once, I didn't remember most of the context, which made it about ten times more awesome. I'm a bit worried about Sherlock and the Master facing off, though, mostly for the Master's sake.

The Eleventh Doctor at the Proms. It is quite silly, but it is still miles better than that Grask nonsense, and more importantly, it made me clutch my face and shriek a bit about how adorable Matt Smith is. Seriously, adorable. Also, still lovely with children.

Kylie Minogue's All The Lovers. I never would have come across this on my own, but I was linked to it, and it is one of my new favourite things ever. It is the happiest, most beautiful, and casually queerest spontaneous surreal orgy I have ever seen! And then for no good reason a white horse gallops through the streets! I want my whole damn life to be like this music video.

Trigger, Bruce McDonald's new film about lady rockers who happen to be played by Tracy Wright and Molly Parker; Daniel MacIvor wrote it, and IMDb tells me that the other actors with top billing are Don McKellar and Sarah Polley, as you do. And, as the cherry on top of the tiny incestuous Canadian awesomecake, CKR is Billy Tallent again. I may have screamed a bit with joy, and that was before I got to the clip with Billy. I am semi-seriously considering a road trip to Canada to catch this in theatres.

Is it sad how insanley jealous I am of the small child that Matt Smith pulled out of the audience? I mean, I was jealous of everyone in the audience because serious, Matt Smith! In character! But that kid is going to have the coolest story to tell his classmates.

Also I have no watched "A Study in Time" approximatly way the hell too many times. *laughs*

CAN WE TALK ABOUT ARTHUR

And how I didn't find JGL attractive, even after the Bad Romance video

And how then I saw this picture:

And how now I am writing REALLY SAD ONE-SIDED ARTHUR/COBB AND ALSO I FIND HIM RLY HOT

[personal profile] feverbeats 2010-09-13 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
HE JUST LOOKS SO EXHAUSTED AND RESENTFUL AND TOTALLY WRECKED. I, yeah, you know what I like.

lolol CORRECT, except I think she totally attacks him with trains anyway. Yes, I am writing the epic saga of ARTHUR LOVED COBB AND MAL then Mal died and ARTHUR LOVED COBB, but COBB WAS 80 IN HIS BRAIN and DREAM!MAL TORTURED ARTHUR A LOT and Arthur was like, "Okay. I can do that. I will do anything for Cobb."

AND IT'S SAD. And Eames is like, "I WILL FIX YOU, DARLING," and Arthur is like, "FUCK OFF, I AM PINING."

WHY I AM NOT SURPRISED THAT YOU ARE AN ARTHUR GIRL AND I AM AN EAMES GUY.

WHY.

Oh man, I have ALWAYS found JGL hot (well, since he hit PUBERTY okay) but that clip, I JUST. The mix of goofiness with UTTER FUCKING ROCKSTAR *SELLING* THE SONG completely slays me.

WAIT WHEN DID YOU GET IN INCEPTION FANDOM!? How is everyone awesome in this fandom and I don't know about it? I have an eight page reclist and the kinkmeme is AMAZING and I wrote fanfic (and I might commit fanfic AGAIN what), that is how much I am in love with this fandom.

I think the reason I... attracted to, isn't the right word, but "approve of" feels weird, but that I like JGL, anyway, is because he's one of the few celebrities that feels to me like a real person; like the person he projects is the person he actually is, he's not trying to sell himself as a commodity or an image. He's just a person who happens to also be in some really famous movies. It's refreshing.

You really should, there is some absolutely stunning fanfic. (And if you wrote for Ariadne, I might die.)

I still can't find JGL attractive! I have tried! I approve WILDLY of the many photographs of him wearing nice things, but...nope. Which actually makes writing Arthur a lot easier, as I am firmly in the camp of identifies-with rather than wants-to-shag.

Well, by 'easy' I mean 'currently stalled at 13,200 words argh argh I hate the world this story is a piece of shit'. You know.

First of all, road trip to Canada? An excellent idea! Canada is awesome. Also I think I actually have to see that movie because it doesn't look like it'll be super-depressing like HCL!

And I don't know why, but in that Kylie Minogue video when the horse came on screen, it looked wrong, and after a moment I figured out why: apparently my brain needs it to be a unicorn to look right. Uh.

...Well. What little of actual Canada that I remember seeing in Due South is the bit at the beginning of Burning Down The House, with, you know, trees and forest and water. Which is certainly what my favourite parts of Canada are indeed like! Though they tend to be sadly lacking in attractive Mounties wearing plaid.

I am also very fond of my bits of Canada (that being Southern Ontario) despite not being quite as scenic. Though there ARE some great waterfalls.

What bit of Canada would you be most likely to road-trip to, if you were to do so? I seem to recall you live in Wisconsin? Which has all these lakes in between it and handy access to Canada!

No, I have not seen HCL! (My C6D tag WOULD have said, if I'd seen it!) I don't think I can see it unless I have someone to watch it with me to wibble at and make comments to. Because I don't do heartshattering well. I mean, I cried enough at the end of Last Night, which as you said is about as uplifting an apocalypse movie as you can get. There is a reason why I have never read Kat Allison's famously depressing Due South fic!

When Matt Smith is going "On Monday morning, you can tell all your friends at school about this!" I'm thinking, er, no he won't, every single one of his friends are sitting in front of the telly with their mouths hanging open. THAT CHILD.

Also, impromptu Mounties do not happen often, but they have happened to me! They seem to enjoy hanging around the eastern bits of Toronto's waterfront? Also they used to come by my elementary school a lot. Because apparently horses and hats are far better at making children happy than, say, catching criminals.
