just as long as they don't confusingly name her lucy

Apparently we now have Eleven's companion! (I am unnecessarily if mildly annoyed that the headlines continue to insist on 'assistant'. Eleven is not Three in a laboratory! Not that I am sure what Eleven is ...) My Thoughts on the subject of said companion are mostly

[a] yay, she is pretty! I am unreasonably attracted to redheads
[b] thank god she is not actually younger than me so I will not have to feel skeevy crushing on her, but neither is she older than me, which means I am probably past my companion sell-by date, which is a little alarming -- and also how awesome would it be for young-looking Eleven to have someone Donna-aged or older? really awesome
[c] can we have a name for her so she does not have to be "not actually Karen, that redhead Eleven's going to be hanging out with"?

I think I am glad we have to wait a little while for Moffat'n'Eleven, though. I tend to get wordy and excited about Doctor Who things, and Doctor Who is like that boyfriend I broke up with but am still easy for whenever he comes to visit, so I am happy to be on break.

I love your explanation about your relationship with Doctor Who. That's kind of brilliant.

And yeah she is really cute... omg redheads... I feel so petty because I find Alyson Hannigan less attractive since she has dark hair now. :( Zomg... with the exception of Kate Vernon my older actress crushes are both redheads. o_O

re: [c], well, I don't know what they're going to call her but I am going to start calling her Dairine because omg dream Dairine casting for a future-value of Dairine. (I have a massive crush on Dairine-in-the-future.)

HEY THIS ICON IS FANDOM-APPROPRIATE! I think it's the first time I've used it in a Dairine comment. Yay.

I know, right?! She even looks a little like Anna Paquin (my personal dream Nita casting.)

*enables enables enables* I wondered where that was on your WIP list!

...So is there like a Doctor Who mailing list or something that you need to join in order to watch the show? Because I feel strangely compelled to watch it now. For some reason. :D

I may hunt down the earlier seasons of New!Who just to make myself seem legitimate. XD I have quite liked everything I've seen already, though.

i. Off the top of my head, I have seen:

- A chunk of the episode with Agatha Christie in it

- All, or nearly all, of The Girl in the Fireplace

- That one from the first new series involving a guy in an underground bunker collecting dangerous things, including a Dalek, which died at the end after obtaining a chunk of Rose's soul -- and the whole thing entertained me greatly because the bad guy's underground bunker was in Utah, of all places, seriously, what kind of supervillain are you

- Several chunks of the Master's arc, albeit unfortunately out of order

- Part of one of Martha's episodes, I think the one in which they're in turn-of-the-century London for some reason

- Another Martha episode involving like a genetics lab or something on a planet that had snow outside, and one of the bureaucrats was evil and got pwned at the end by one of the genetically engineered things (I was not paying much attention as I was cooking at the same time)

- That one set right before the 2012 London Olympics with the little girl who can kill you with her box of Crayolas

ii. Perhaps. You enabler you.

Bah.

Sorry, she is very pretty! And maybe she will be interesting! But I am so very tired of pretty young girl companions and increasingly young-looking Doctors. Maybe it is just that I want Donna forever? Sigh.
