Know what I'm doing instead of packing? I'm reading all the G'Kar/Londo fic on the AO3. I haven't come across any tentacle porn yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time, considering the probable Venn diagram of Centauri biology and fandom sensibilities. Possibly someone needs to save me from myself.

To save this post from pointlessness (too laaaate) it is time for a poll, because I am genuinely curious as to how many of you know how much of what I'm talking about when I start nattering on about various fannish things. (I am not necessarily asking if you are fannishly involved yourself, nor even if you have seen the shows in question, just if you are not lost when I start talking about them.)

I enjoy all your fannish nattering ons! Those three are three of my favorite shows, too. Although I really need to go back and rewatch most of B5. I haven't done a major rewatch since it aired, and given it started when I was, uh, 12.

YAY! I am very happy to share three favourite shows with someone. Also, commenting is of course great, but by no means necessary; it's mostly excellent to know that I'm not talking into a void that's staring back blankly. :D

It is SO EXCELLENT. On the other hand, it's not one of those shows you need a working knowledge of to navigate Fandom At Large, is it? You're doing better than me already, honestly; before a friend lent me the DVDs, I'd heard it mentioned maybe once ever.

The Doctor Who stuff I mostly know in theory, rather than practice. I watched New Who season 1, and am watching the current season, and have seen quite a few vids for the Ten years. :-)

*flail* Despite the fact that I spend large portions of Ten's run wanting to punch him in his sad, pretty face, I really recommend third season (that is, the second of the three seasons to feature Tennant) if only because mumblemyOTPturnsupattheend. But watching first and fifth season really is giving you a Best Of. :D

I have seen the first half dozen eps of season 2, and Blink (awesome!), and the last three eps of whichever season the Master turns up in. It was just a bit too pantomimey for me. :-)

You've probably missed a couple of good ones with Donna, then, but you've hit all the other major bits, and if it was too pantomimey for you, you should probably keep it that way. (I absolutely agree, by the way, I just ... I love David Tennant, and also all the ridiculous old school stuff in the same vein, too much to let a silly thing like low-quality telly stop me. XD)

On the Babylon 5 front, you've read Selena's fic, right? I know she has some of it up on A03, but I don't think she has everything uploaded.

Oh, yes. Though you'd be surprised how well-written most of it actually is. If I'm not mistaken, Andraste wrote the first tentacle porn for the fandom, though it was Londo/Urza rather than G'Kar/Londo.

YES. I am making my way through it with great delight! I almost killed myself laughing at the one where G'Kar and Londo throw Sheridan a stag night party. sdkldfklds I can't even. :DDD

I have in fact now found some quite mild tentacle porn! Mostly I'm going "C'mon, on the actual show Vir was more explicit than this! Put out, internet!" but I'm sure it will provide soon. XD

It is here! I should probably warn you that, like a lot of early bits of the show itself, it runs on the power of "misunderstandings about alien culture are hilarious," so YMMV, but I found this instance charming and unannoying.

I clicked all of them, but I've only seen a couple episodes of Babylon 5 and none of Due South. So sometimes my understanding level is "I have heard this name!" or "I read that one other fic about him!"

Fandom osmosis is a wonderful thing.

Fandom osmosis is indeed wonderful! I deeply recommend both shows, but, y'know, just knowing about them in general is probably fun too. :D

They are both on my list of shows to get around to watching properly sometime!

It's just that, uh, that list of mine is very long, and my attention span for tv is short. So it may be a while. But I have fruitless good intentions!
