Okay, I'll be honest: I wasn't sure of her at first, but I have now decided beyond doubt that the new TARDIS is, indeed, a sexy thing. I still don't know about the exact shade of blue on the outside, but other than that I am sold. I am so sold, in fact, that it is impromptu TARDIS picspam time!
I like to think that the TARDIS goes on forever, in lots of scary, strange ways. [-Moffat]
Let's break it down: the new TARDIS has a wildly different 'desktop theme', even though Moff already chucked that explanation. (I suppose you can change it at will, and the TARDIS repairs herself.) The conceptual art is fairly amazing:
This one looks suspiciously like the 'Scream of the Shalka' TARDIS, sort of souped up. They didn't actually go with that, though, but rather with this:
...which, rendered live, looks so:
I love that cap because it actually gives you the scale of the thing. This TARDIS is BIG. It's so busy that it doesn't quite look it, but the space is enormous. IT EVEN HAS A DOWNSTAIRS.
And here are some caps of it being properly lived-in:
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. I do like that the ceiling is much the same as it was during Nine & Ten's run, so we do still have a familiar touchstone or two.
The little details are especially excellent, though. It has, for instance, hot & cold water taps; some sort of pressure-measuring device; a TYPERWRITER (♥); bits of console with Gallifreyan inscribed right on; a gramophone; something that is a lie detector or a seismograph or possibly both; and, my personal favourite, a flippy-count clock very like the one in Eight's TARDIS.
Apparently the whole thing comes with an INSTRUCTION MANUAL. I can't actually express how desperately I want to get my hands on a large, readable copy of that. I would write a million billion fics about the care and feeding of your TARDIS, no lie.

And if I can figure out how to drive a TARDIS from observation, assuming that Matt Smith does follow that adorable instruction manual and retain continuity, there will definitely be fic of some kind.
