fannish self-reflection; probably not the droids you're looking for
My End of Time recap borked my photobucket account. "Bandwidth exceeded," it told me sternly, turning everything from my 'about' banners to the recap itself into those annoying little 'bandwidth exceeded' buttons. I imagine most of my stuff still says that, but this morning I spent a bit of time switching the relevant images to another account, so they should all show up again now.
Incidentally, I did the switching possibly a little more promptly and frantically than it warranted. I literally had a moment where I saw all the broken links and went "NO BUT THAT MEANS TEN'S GONE! I MUST FIX IT!" I know I was really over-invested when Sirius died, but I was also fifteen, and it's not like I even need to spoiler-cut for Ten going. You'd think having a year's advance warning would be helpful, and you'd be right, but I also spent the past year twiddling my thumbs through most of the specials and falling for certain Mounties instead. The unexpected return of my Ten-love kind of caught me in a tailspin. I think now's probably a good time to state for the record that I'm retroactively grateful out of all proportion that Fraser & both Rays survive the entire show.
(Now is probably also a good time to state for the record that part of me wants to know what Eleven is like now now now because I secretly want to write Ray Kowalski, Crack Companion. Why can't I just do that with Ten? No idea! I just like the idea of Eleven.)
Anyway, now that I've remembered that Ten is one of my One True Characters, and this is why I am still all shaky almost a week later, I can take a deep breath and really get cracking on that fic I want to write. Just because I'm going to write his death myself again, it doesn't mean that after that I have to stop.

It is ridiculous, Scott. At least now that I am like, "Yeah, Ten's death freaks me out way more than it should, but that does not mean that writing his death scene means NO MORE TEN EVER" I am finding it kind of easier to write this stupid thing. :D?

In a lot of ways Nine is My Doctor, but so is Five -- I see either of them and I dissolve into a puddle of love. Ten is a different sort of creature, and also I have sneaky ninja investment in him, because I forgot how much I care. Crazytimes!
