+ Yuletide signups are open! I am probably not going to sit down and properly sign up until this weekend, because there are so many delicious shiny fandoms to choose from and I want to do a thorough job. (And not actually think about how I'll be signed up for this, and due South Seekrit Santa, and Eyai Yuletide.)

+ A Wizard of Mars has a release date & awesome cover art! I think I have already resigned myself to never actually writing the Adventures of Dairine & the Tenth Doctor, so I am content to be delighted with a definite release date. Perhaps I will reread my Young Wizards books over winter break?

+ Things I did not expect when I started watching Eastwick: that Joanna would kind of end up being my little black dress. By this of course I mean that I am still shipping Joanna/Kat something fierce, and I want to cover the scene at the end with Joanna and Penny in little sparkly BFF hearts, and I irrationally want to ship Joanna with Max. How awesome was Max, by the way? Viewer consensus was mixed (I love this; I watch Eastwick with three girls from my house, all of whom may or may not be watching mostly because it entertains them to see my reaction to the Paul Gross scenes) but I like Max a lot. He was classy and he got Joanna to stop being Neo, and he was annoying but he was also cognizant of his annoyingness and was using it for a particular end. I believe there will be more Max, and to this I say yay!

Poor Kat, meanwhile! Were I spending the entire episode accidentally healing my children and suspecting that it really was my fault my estranged husband was struck by lightning, and then I had to hang out with Eleanor and Bun and FIRE ANTS, I would be having a bad day too! I am suitably intrigued by the Bun & Eleanor plot, although I am a little anxious about the part where they have to kill Darryl again. I mean, first I am anxious because I'm worried that they both might die -- and where is the last generation's Joanna? the one who was obscured in the photo? I expect she's dead already -- and second, if they do kill Darryl this is either a one-season show or Darryl will have some 'splaining to do when he comes back at the beginning of the next season. Or ... ahh, who knows.

And I am saving Darryl and Roxie for last, because s;lfdkgjdsf. It occurs to me that I think I like Roxie best because not only does she accept her psychic powers, she follows through and she thinks about consequences and is basically really smart, ohhh Roxie. Honestly one of the reasons I love her so is that she's a lot smarter about Darryl than I am -- which is, uh, kind of ridiculous, because I am outside the show and have access to information like, "Hey, guys, Darryl is probably the Devil!" And yet Roxie is a lot better at calling his bullshit than I am. To be fair, Darryl was wearing a PURPLE SHIRT and WALKING ON HOT COALS and talking about KNOWLEDGE AS A CURSE/GIFT and, unlike Roxie, I was not particularly concerned about him burning his feet. (Maybe I am still watching this show for Paul Gross a little. Sorry. Just. HOT COALS. It was kind of epic.) The important point here, though, is that Roxie ran to Darryl to tell him that Chad's message was about moving on, and I actually covered my eyes with my hands and went, "Oh god, she's going to sleep with him," and then she didn't. Because Roxie? is smart. And I kind of love it.

Other miscellaneous notes: I think it was the perfect storm of an episode in that it had OT3 snuggles, and Penny/Joanna, and Darryl being epic, and lots of plot momentum, and perhaps best of all no Raymond or Will or Jamie. Aria approved!

The preview for next episode makes me nervous, but the previews for tomorrow's Flash Forward are distracting me from worrying. PG and CKR are legit almost on my screen at the same time, guys! This is funnier than it should be. Perhaps Paul can finally join the I'm Evil And Then Die Club?

Yeah, I should sleep.

Aaah I must catch up on Eastwick, your posts always remind me, but - let me tell you, I was shocked by how suddenly excited I got checking out that cover and reading the blurb. (And I already read one or two of the chapters because of that subscribe thing and there was some glitch and um, I read them without paying *guilt guilt*) But ANYWAY, I'm really excited! Although very sad that Dairine & 10's Excellent Adventures will never happen.
