moment of glory
Things I should be worrying about:
+ learning Spanish verb conjugations
+ writing this week's scene of play
+ not stabbing myself in the face with a pencil from frustration whilst I do perspective drawings
+ making a serious list of professors I want to ask for grad school recommendations
Things I am actually worrying about:
+ whether killing Fraser in order to write Ray/Ray is an exercise in the I Killed The Threat To My Pairing cliché if [a] Fraser is a ghost and still one of the main characters in the fic and [b] Fraser is in all ways imaginable not a threat to my pairing because my pairing is usually Fraser/Kowalski and sometimes Vecchio can come too
+ whether I'll have to break up with Flashpoint, courtesy of [SPOILER]; I have not yet seen the new episode, so maybe breakup is not eminent, but I am Quite Displeased, not least because I've only been casually dating Flashpoint for a few months now and this seems needlessly cruel
+ how hard I will have to avoid the impending shipping wars in Merlin fandom, because I think Merlin is not quite magical enough to skip the shipping wars
Speaking of, quick thoughts on yesterday's Merlin. I mostly want to state for the record that, after the hit-and-miss of Gwen falling on top of Arthur last episode, I was worried, but I am so incredibly not worried now. They keep on having actual meaningful conversations! They really like each other! Gwen makes Arthur a (slightly) better person in a good and unskeevy way! They have MAD CHEMISTRY. Sign me up for a full cruise on the Arthur/Gwen ship, please. (Not that ... I haven't shipped it since I was like EIGHT. My inner child will be very confused when Lancelot returns and I want to ship him with everyone too, I imagine, because my inner child was very OTP and did not much like Lancelot.) In any case, I grinned happily all over their ~dramatic kiss~ and I think they should do it again sometime.
Meanwhile, in the next episode, Merlin and Morgana should obviously have magical bonding time. I'm starting to develop a theory: any time Creepy Baby Mordred shows up, I suddenly get that deep quiet joy I get for actual Arthurian legends. S2 Arthur/Gwen & Merlin/Morgana to go with s1 Arthur/Merlin & Gwen/Morgana, y/y?
I AM VERY FOND OF THIS SHOW.

p.s. on the grad school front, some completely unsolicited and possibly obnoxious advice: I took four years off in between, and I don't regret a day of it....
