yep, this is my holiday post

Re: this tumblr thread on how Valentine's Day was originally "a pagan festival involving werewolves, blood, and fucking" and how this means it is probably well celebrated by watching Bram Stoker's Dracula:

aria: oh man though Gary Oldman's Dracula face
filiabelialis: YES
aria: ...I know people have apparently written the Sherlock werewolf AUs but has anyone ever written the awful vampire AU?
filiabelialis: I feel like I've seen that somewhere
aria: quite possibly!
aria: IN WHICH GARY OLDMAN TURNS BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH INTO A VAMPIRE okay what am I even going on about
filiabelialis: UNF
filiabelialis: I mean, no, that is an intriguing interpretation
aria: sadly this is not the plot of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
aria: would proooobably be lots hotter than Cold War spies, just sayin'

HAPPY 14TH OF FEBRUARY YOU GUYS <3

Actually, I can see Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock as a Cold War-era spy who's also a psychic vampire. This means that he's alive (because psychic vampires are born, not made) and unaffected by things like sunlight, but that he feeds off of things that produce intense or violent emotion. Which is one reason that he literally needs to get to crime scenes so quickly--the violent emotion produced by murder is still fresh that way.

And Mycroft is Control. Because, well, he SHOULD be.

...You know, I did see Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and all, but still, when you say "Control" especially in light of Mycroft Holmes, I cannot possibly think of anything but:

EDIT:

Er. By which I mean this YouTube clip right here.

Oh my god I would read the hell out of Gary Oldman as a vampire. I... yes. Does that exist? It should exist.

I believe I can come up with an explanation.

They put up the names of a bunch of actors on a wall, blindfolded themselves, spun around in circles a few times and then threw darts at the wall. Hey, would you look at that?

Was scrolling through your Holmes tag to find the link to "Sensation of Falling" and just wanted to mention that in the last month, I have found and read a compelling vampire!Sherlock fic!

Whose other series you should totally check out-- the Watches 'verse-- because it features a buttload of John Watson dealing with the AU mess his life has become. It is Your Division.
