to sherlock holmes she was always THE hurricane

You guys, this threat is BRIGHT PINK.

In all seriousness, though, stay safe and evacuate if you need to? I know way too many people in New York and Massachusetts to feel okay about this. I should be fine, though; Irene's hitting Carolina tonight, but I'm somewhere in the red or orange bands, so I'm not going out tomorrow and we might lose power, but we shouldn't have anything too threatening.

Earthquakes, hurricanes ... I don't know about you guys, but I'm holding out for a rain of frogs next. At worst, kind of gross; at best, adorable.

OH MY GOD YOUR SUBJECT LINE IS THE BEST SUBJECT LINE.

I was totally not freaked out at all until I went to the grocery store and couldn't buy any groceries because there were a billion people in the store and the line for check-out ran back to the dairy section and it was impossible to go up and down the aisles. But, um. I still think everything is probably going to be fine. I am glad I live on a hill.

I LAUGHED FOR LIKE THREE MINUTES. ♥

Well, they are CLOSING THE SUBWAY. Actually, they are closing all of New Jersey transit, and also all of the MTA -- subway, and trains, and buses. We are either supposed to evacuate before tomorrow night, or stay put until it is all over, depending on where we live. This shit is pretty crazy.

Or perhaps DELICIOUS?

Yeah, this is too many natural disasters.

You win at subject lines, forever.

If I were still living there I'd be totally blasé about it, but I hope people are properly cautious and stay safe, not so much from the hurricane but from other people.

LOL subject line. THANK GOD IT'S NOT JUST ME. I keep reading people's posts where they say they're at home waiting for Irene to arrive, or that they're not making plans until they see what Irene brings, and thinking, "...Stolen jewels? News of Moriarty's machinations? Oh wait, right, hurricane."

Er. But I hope everyone stays safe and there is minimal damage and scariness? The East Coast really has been taking a beating lately.

(I always picture rains of frogs with Muppets. Felt frogs of many sizes and shades of green falling from the sky, bouncing off trees and awnings and people's umbrellas, and going "Ow!" Definitely the cutest of all Biblical disasters!)

I think the rain of frogs has already started - I saw them hopping all over the road on the way back from Paperhand Puppet Intervention's summer show... it's really been a very curious sort of year, natural disaster wise. Earthquakes. For crying out loud.

So much win for your subject line!

...amusement aside, it seems pretty bad for the more coastal areas. Fingers crossed.

I have no idea how worried to be. Especially given that, while we technically a mile from the shore, we are pretty much across the street from marshland connected to the beaches.
