So perhaps you guys remember Sigyn (binding is not punishment), that fic I wrote where Darcy is a hipster and she and Loki bond over comics and when Loki is bound beneath the world, she stays with him to catch venom in a bowl? A few people mentioned that they'd be curious to read the version of Ragnarok that might happen as a result of that fic. "Haha, maybe," said I, lying through my teeth as one does when writing Loki, "if I ever figure out how to make it work in this universe."

I think the take-home message here is that, if you throw any myth about Loki at me, I will remix the hell out of it.

Ragnarok (release tips the balance), Darcy/Loki. A long time ago, when they were locked away, Loki promised they would escape at the end of the world.

So I read this post and was all like "oh, cool, Aria should totally do the Lokasenna!"

And then I thought: "oh crap, she probably already has done that!"

So then I read both parts, and it was awesome.

Hilariously I think the Lokasenna proper is one of the only things I haven't done at this point. Well, that, and the golden apples and Sleipnir and Thor in drag and ... ffff oh my god so many things I can still write! Loki is like an ENDLESS WELL OF CRACK.

That is AMAZING. I never knew the apocalypse could be so adorable and funny and heartbreaking and awesome. They don't die, right? Darcy and Loki should keep having adventures forever. Ee, thank you! <3 Um, comics canon states that Ragnarok is a cycle, and they'll all get to start over after this; also I suppose it is possible that they make it out intact! I didn't actually decide one way or another, so it's choose your own ending, really, and I am all for them having happy endings.

Also, yep, Darcy's Shakespeare professor was absolutely Geoffrey. :D

I have not read fic in a billion years (months, and at least years or something ridiculous since I've been in serious fic-mode) and I was emptying out the bookmarks on my work computer (because, work computer should not be as full of porn as it is) and I was like, hey, I have a bit of time to kill while transferring files, I should read this fic Aria posted a while ago....

WHY DO YOU DO THESE THINGS TO ME. I HAD NOT THOUGHT ABOUT ANY OF THIS. WHEN DID ALL THIS AMAZING DARCY NONSENSE HAPPEN. I DID NOT EVEN KNOW SHE WAS A CHARACTER? SHE IS A PERSON. A PERSON I WANNA BE FRIENDS WITH. AND WANT TO MAKE OUT WITH LOKI ALL THE TIME.

Andandand also, I knew you were all getting into Thor, and I knew, theoretically, that meant getting all up in the Norse Mythology, and I'm pretty sure I heard you guys talking about it at some point ("heard" actually means "crept on a concept thread or asked Amelia what you were chatting about at that moment" in this context, as it often does on the internet). But, okay, Norse Mythology was really important to me growing up. Like, any kind of pagan I ever thought I wanted to be or could be was tied to it, for a lot of different reasons and in a lot of ways. And that's persisted, if fluctuated, since, like, middle school. I read way more Norse Mythos than any middle schooler should have (mayhap a liiiiittle too formative an age to be reading about doom and enthusiastic apocalypses and self-mutilation)

BUT ANYWAY. ARIA. THIS IS SLIGHTLY FREAKING ME OUT. YOU KNOW LOTS ABOUT THIS NOW. AND YOU ARE REMIXING THE SHIT OUT OF ALL OF IT, EXCEPT ADDING HOTTIES AND MOVIE CANON AND COMIX AND I KNOW THAT'S PROBABLY WHAT ALL OF THOR FANDOM IS BUT SERIOUSLY. SERIOUSLY. WHAT DID YOU DO HERE. WHY AM I SO EPICALLY ENTHRALLED AND CRYING A LITTLE.

Okay, I need to go to bed, because I have work way too soon and didn't actually get to sleep too much last night because Amelia and I were dancing like maniacs for hours to crazy techno at a dyke club until veryvery late (or veryvery early depending on your perspective).

And tomorrow night I will have real feedback about this fic and how amazing it was and all the everything that makes me love you as an author and be in ever-increasing awe of your skillz and your brain. Oh my god Jessieeeeeee THIS COMMENT IS MADE OF GOLDEN APPLES AND EIGHT-LEGGED PONIES AND JOY. I don't know if you realize this, but the entire appeal of writing Thor fic (after Loki, obviously, because he is a lot of appeal) is REMIXING MYTHS. I have always been passingly fond of Norse mythology, but it is kind of my new favorite thing now. I AM GLAD I AM REMIXING IT IN WAYS THAT MAKE YOU FLAILY. :D

Somehow all the porn ended up over in the Thor/Loki fic! Which I would tell you to read because it is also full of remixed and referenced myth bits and is Relevant To Your Interests, except that I realize it is forever words long and you have a life and I should not be responsible for you being groggy at work.
