could've had it all
Things that are excellent:
1. I have my own computer back! Apparently the other stuff that was wrong with it also caused it to become virus-ridden, so it cost more to repair than I wanted, sigh, but on the other hand they caught everything early enough that my hard drive is perfectly intact and I haven't lost any data. LET'S CARRY ON FOR A WHILE BEFORE THE LAPTOP BREAKS AGAIN, SHALL WE.
2. Merrily slogging through Harry Potter! I'm about a third into Goblet of Fire now. My reread is reminding me why it was a valid and excellent life choice to be ridiculously in love with these books for five years.
3. WHITE COLLAR. I loved this one A LOT OF A LOT.
I loved the A-plot; the technicalities of the plot I didn't care about one way or another, but it's about damn time we had a Jones-centric episode, and he was fantastic. CJ! And looking good in those dress whites, sir! (You look good in them too, Neal.) I'm delighted that he's in the credits sequence now too, although seriously, why are they still listing him as a guest star. Ridic.
Back in arc plot land, I'm delighted with what they're doing with Sara. She loves him too much -- or understands him too much -- to report him, but she can't stay with him, either, and implicitly condone what he's doing. It's a bit heartbreaking, and all the more because Neal just stood there and accepted it, like after their talks about how Neal lives in a fantasy, her leaving is doing him a favor. Neal. Neal Neal Neal.
I may have spent the last five minutes of the episode clutching my face and a wee bit teary, by the way. Peter's offer to talk! Peter wanting Neal to be happy! And I was so overwhelmingly relieved when Neal lied to Moz. It's a lot of things, obviously, not just Peter's call; I suspect it's also Neal realizing that he is happy here, that he gets all the conning rush he needs just working undercover cases, and that this thing he's doing with Moz is making him miserable. Plus, in elaborate headcanon land, where he's still quite a lot in love with Peter and has been seriously thinking about leaving because he's lashing out in hurt, pretty much the best thing possible for Peter to do was offer to talk. Goodness knows if Neal will take him up on it, but having that option is really, really important.
I more than half suspected that Peter's stakeout was on his own house, though. Obviously there was no reveal of that, and I don't think that's actually the way the season is going, but if Peter is basically pulling an elaborate con to get Neal to stay, that would be amazing.
Anyway, SO GREAT. And next week I would like to request moar Diana and El.

Apparently, that is the actor's decision, not the management.

I may have a small crush on the character of Clinton Jones.
