emotional whiplash
1. Nicholas Courtney died yesterday. I'm a bit shattered; I adore the Brigadier more than words can say, and it just feels so odd to know that he isn't an ongoing part of Doctor Who anymore. I just. I miss him. :(
2. Which is why I then felt a bit confused when last night's White Collar happened, because, oh my god, so excellent and full of delight this week! I don't think either one really cancels out the other.
Things I deeply adored about this episode:
+ Peter and El's fight! I mean, I didn't enjoy it, but I loved that it was significant, and that it underlined how ridiculously awesome and delightful they are as a couple.
+ The conversation between Neal and Elizabeth. "Is that what you're gonna do?" "What do you want me to do?" I just. My heart! This episode left me in desperate need of more Neal/El.
+ Neal exchanged Kate's ring for Peter's life. I mean, obviously it's the right thing to do, because Peter's still alive and Kate's presumably dead, but that's still an incredibly significant gesture.
+ AND HE DIDN'T TAKE THE RING BACK. I love how huge emotionally significant moments happen on this show but are still understated and quiet.
+ Mozzie and Diana! One of my favorite things about White Collar is the way they really are a wacky family.
+ Peter and Neal hugging. Guys, do that all the time. Please.
I am also WICKED EXCITED for next week. Perhaps it will give me more of the Neal/El I so desire.
