troy and abed in the moooorning
I have finally caught up on Community! I watched most of it a while ago, before getting sitcommed out and stopping. (Not to mention that I occasionally get intense contact embarrassment from Britta. I know you're trying so hard, but stop being on my side!) But ... idk, I think I mostly just wanted to get to the stop-motion Christmas episode, and it's not like it's very difficult to be a completist when every episode is twenty minutes long.
Anyway, um, along the way I managed to get massively emotionally invested, although mostly in Abed and Troy. (If anyone asks, since I am given to believe that it is A Thing in certain sections of the fandom, I am on Team Jeff/Britta Because They Deserve Each Other, and Team Annie/Someone Preferably Female and Awesome For Her. I'd be on Team Annie/Britta except that I think Britta's hipster gay acceptance would slowly destroy Annie. ANYWAY.) But I really just want to watch the Troy and Abed Show! I am so happy that, at least from where I'm standing, there is nothing inherently "haha we're not gay NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT" in their epic BFF relationship. They love each other! They love each other and it's canon and not used as a weapon or a punchline! I may keep getting a little starry-eyed about this. I'm pretty sure that on onscreen romance with kissing between them isn't going to happen, but I'm also pretty sure that if did, everyone else's reactions would be the punchline.
Also, how much do I love Abed? A lot. He is such a nerd, and he is no good at people except for those times when he really, really is, and he is so meta I can hardly stand it, and sometimes I find him kind of attractive? which is weird, idk, I just want to hug him a lot. Has anyone written the fic where Abed literally breaks the fourth wall? I know he looks at it a lot, but he's never properly destroyed it.
In conclusion, like most of my entries about shows I'm watching but haven't put much serious thought into, I expect it's only mildly coherent. Also, Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas made me cry. Legit cry actual tears because I may be a bit emotionally invested in Abed.
(Also it is WHITE COLLAR NIGHT. I have been rubbish at blogging about White Collar, but I am pretty excited for this one.)

Team Annie/Someone Preferably Female and Awesome For Her
I would love someone gentle and sweet and funny to spend time with Annie and adore her in all her charming and neurotic glory. Not even necessarily dating, but someone who really values her as a person and not just as part of the group.
*blink* I didn't realise I had feelings on Community past <3TROYANDABED<3, but hey, turns out I do. Go Team Annie/Someone Preferably Female and Awesome For Her! I will make t-shirts.

Exactly this! It doesn't necessarily have to be a woman, but Annie has a kind of awful track record with men, and I was very charmed by her willingness to kiss Britta. Therefore! Annie needs some love. :D

and then I realised that I just wanted Parker and Hardison and Troy and Abed to hang out constantly and be amazing
STARS! STARS IN MY EYES! Oh, so much yes to this!

Omg, yes! If you were to write crossover fic of that sort, who would you ship Troy and Abed with?
no subject
HAHAHAH OH ARIA. You are seconds away from mentioning Narnia, I CAN JUST TELL.
I am not sure yet! I feel that Martha Jones is maybe a bit too normal.

Hmm. I kind of want them to have adventures with Dawn Summers? I do not know if I would want to ship them, but she could wear Troy's letter jacket, and exchange demon trivia with Abed, and she would be so down with making those weird little films with them.

TROY AND ABED. I. Sort don't care if they go overtly romantic or sexual route or not? They love each other, and how they want to express that, in all their quirkiness, is up to them, if that makes any sense? I agree with you so far the show hasn't used it as a weapon or icky punchline. It really *is* ok that they are two guys who adore each other.

I think I am with you there! I mean, I would be over the moon if they did become canonical boyfriends, because how fucking amazing would it be for characters of color in a same-sex relationship to be on network TV, and probably not get treated any less or more seriously for it? But on the other hand, I love what the show's giving us now, and I don't get the feeling we're being teased with impossible possibilities. So that's really nice.

If you want to know whether you'll like the show, I think starting with the pilot is valid, but for a sense of what the show's like at its best, a great episode is 1x23, Modern Warfare.

And yes, I so adore that their totally canon BFF love for each other isn't really a punchline. The show seems to take a lot of joy in their relationship, and I really love that.

This is exactly it! And, I mean, the show does take joy in every relationship, including Britta's occasionally toxic ones, which I think is a large part of the reason why I enjoy it: it really comes from a place of affection for all the characters. (That's why the Christmas episode actually made me cry, and it's also why Pierce works at all.) But the especially great thing about Troy and Abed is that, of all the relationships, it never needs to go a remotely soap-opera route, and I love that.

I am on board with Annie dating a girl. Ummm... someone awesome and comfortable in her sexuality.

I have to confess, I'm kind of desperately hoping that might happen. This show needs more women anyway, it's probably a hell of a lot more likely to get a network green light than Troy/Abed would, it would be fun to see Pierce thrown for a loop like that, no one would stay weird with Annie for long, and man, Annie really deserves nice things. So!

There can never be enough Abed in the world. That episode where he was in the background DELIVERING A BABY???
You are making me want to write epic Annie/OFC fic. This is warring with the fics already in my head. The one where Abed is accidentally interviewed by the BAU because Pierce called in on a hotline because the description of the unsub was someone odd who hung out with a more popular guy.
And the inevitable Entourage fic where Abed gets a film put in at Sundance and it becomes a hit and Annie is essentially his manager because he is awkward about calling people for meetings and Jeff is emotionally blackmailed into helping Abed and Troy follows along and there's random Ari.
