It's that time of year again! I am ridiculously excited.
Hey, Yuletide writer! You are excellent and awesome for writing something for me. <3
Usually I would open with some general things I like in fic, but my requests are weird and eclectic enough that I'll just specify by fandom. It is, in any case, ridiculously easy to please me; I would like my Yuletide fic to be happy, but beyond that you have free reign.
Calvin and Hobbes: Nothing makes me more completely delighted than stories where Calvin is growing up, or grown up, and Hobbes is still around, and Calvin is still strange and quirky and living inside his own head. What is Calvin doing with his life? How does Hobbes fit in? Is Calvin seeing someone? Is Suzie still around? Does Calvin still occasionally go time-traveling? All this said, though, if you'd rather write Calvin still a child, I'm happy with that, too! I just want Calvin and Hobbes to go on more adventures.
Hark! A Vagrant: If you're writing me Hark! A Vagrant fic, you're already my hero. I didn't specify any characters, because I love all of them, so if you have a particular set you're itching to write about, go wild! If you want specific ideas, though, here are a few: I'd love to see the further adventures of the Mystery Solving Teens; the romance of the pirate and his Nemesis; the tribulations of Dr. Watson trying to deal with Holmes, Stupid Watson, Gay Watson, and whatever other Watsons may be lurking about; the shenanigans of Fat Pony; the day in the life of some Canadians trying to deal with national holidays, Stan Rogers, and mermaids who sing Michael Jackson; the meeting of Lady Macbeth and King Lear upon the stormy heath ... Basically, what I'm saying is, take your favorite characters, or your favorite combination of comics, and just run with it.
Whip It: I'll be honest here: I'd just love some Bliss/Pash fic. I'd love the story of their getting together; either or both of their families and Bliss' derby team would be great bonuses. I'd love to see Bliss deal with what it means when getting together/being with Pash intersects with all the other complications in her life. I feel bad being so specific about this when my other requests are so open-ended, so if you are really wedded to a different pairing or to gen, follow your muse; I just want to spend more time with these ladies.
