› least favorite character: I feel a bit awful saying this, but Peri. Apparently she is better in audios than she is the actual show? But good god, she nearly makes my ears bleed.
› prettiest character: MARTHA JONES. My huge crush on Martha, let me show you it. Amy comes in a very close second.
› character I wanna marry: Probably Martha again! I would also marry the hell out of Sarah Jane, though.
› favorite pairing: Doctor/Master, obviously. :D
› favorite episode: Old school, probably The Five Doctors, which is pure comfort crack. New series, probably still Empty Child/Doctor Dances, although I have a huge weakness for Utopia/Sound of Drums too.
› unpopular opinion: I LOVE JO GRANT. I think she is quite clever and I would watch her and Three fight aliens for hours! Haters to the left.

› unpopular opinion: I have no idea how popular this opinion is, but I kind of loathe the way most of the other principle characters treated Tina. People can be interesting without being pretentious dicks! And I say this as someone who is kind of a pretentious dick. Sigh.

At least Janet kind of realized she wasn't being fair to Tina? But mostly I disliked the way the narrative basically condoned everyone's treatment of her.

Honestly, that book really wasn't my thing; I found all the characters except Tina really juvenile. I do like me some poetry and literary conversation but not the way those kids went about it, you know? But I might have liked it way more if not for the Tina stuff.

› least favorite character: Oof. I usually just block my least favorites from my mind and don't read their books again. Of the characters I remember well, I suppose Rincewind? I'm always a little bitter with him for not being Arthur Dent. Oh, and Carrot! Carrot disturbs me deeply.
› prettiest character: Well, in my head Susan is very attractive? And Angua! Vetinari is probably up for this too, although I wouldn't call him pretty to his face. Actually, the delightful thing about Discworld is that physical attractiveness is not one of the more memorable salient character traits.
› character I wanna marry: Oh, Lady Sybil, hands down.
› favorite pairing: Er, I don't ... what? Shipping is not one of the salient points of Discworld either! I am very invested in Sybil/Vimes, though, and I guess I ship Polly/Maladict a fair amount. Also, I am still waiting for the day when the world delivers me the miracle of believable Vimes/Vetinari that is also good to Sybil.
› favorite episode: I'll assume that in this case episode means 'book;' I think the two I reread the most and are my biggest comfort reads are Reaper Man and The Fifth Elephant, although Lords and Ladies, Monstrous Regiment, and Night Watch get a lot of rereads and love too.
› unpopular opinion: Are -- are there unpopular Discworld opinions? I don't know them.

Good Omens:
› favorite character: Crowley! Oh Crowley, my love.
› least favorite character: I am searching my soul for a single thing about Good Omens that I do not like. Nope, I got nothin'.
› prettiest character: Well, obviously the answer is Crowley again.
› character I wanna marry: Honestly, I'd go for Anathema. She's pretty awesome and she'd be sensible at me when I needed it.
› favorite pairing: Aziraphale/Crowley, as you do.
› favorite episode: In terms of episodes as 'events that happen in the book' my very favorite is Aziraphale and Crowley's drunken dolphin conversation.
› unpopular opinion: I, um, hmm. I don't think any of the Them end up together when they're grown up?

Out of curiosity, why does Carrot disturb you deeply? He is not one of my favorite characters, either.

Also, there are actually some people who loathe Sybil because she interferes with Vetinari/Vimes. (Some people are silly, because Sybil is AWESOME.)

Carrot ... sort of lives in the uncanny valley for me. He is so close to being exactly my character type, because he is very much like Benton Fraser from due South. They are both morally upright people to a degree that bewilders everyone around them, both very good at bending reality around them so that the people they interact with become Better People if even for only a short amount of time, both kind of hilariously awkward outsiders sometimes. But ... I can't remember the exact quote, but it's from Jingo, the bit where Angua gets kidnapped and knows Carrot isn't just going to hare off and rescue her, because Carrot knows personal isn't the same as important, and Carrot will always choose important. And that's where I hit uncanny valley? Fraser will always choose personal, which makes him one of my favorite characters ever, and Carrot will always choose important, which makes me want to run screaming.

Obviously, I have thought about this too much. :)

Sigh. I am unsurprised to hear that about Sybil. And I feel like there are plenty of perfectly good ways to work Sybil's consent and, nay, even plotting with Vetinari into a Vimes/Vetinari fic. Ah well.

I am entertained that that's actually why I love Carrot! I mean, he's totally unnerving, but I love him anyway as a character. And the fact that he'll choose important is part of why.

Characters that have that kind of reality-bending and charisma and choose personal over important creep me out so much more. And always make me want to shout AUGH AUGH NO STEP AWAY AND THINK at them. It's understandable and human to pick personal! But I think I always identify with the people hypothetically being run roughshod over simply because I don't happen to be the guy the Hero Type likes, which is a much worse reason to me than a moral principle. Even if it's a moral principle I strongly disagree with, I'll at least grant that from the Hero Type's perspective it's a good reason.

(I haven't seen enough of Due South to tell where Fraser would fall on that continuum for me. I keep intending to! Vaguely. And then I wander off into shoujo anime again or something.)

The Sarah Connor icon is for irony, I think. *laughing* Because I adore her to bits, and she is kind of a poster child for Personal AND Important (But Especially Personal).

I meant to ask, why does Carrot disturb you? I mean, I guess he's meant to be kind of scary if you're an evildoer, but is there anything else there that you don't like?

I do not know about kosher distribution, but I had one friend who posted her NaNo novel to a locked community she created, for which she then gave access to her friends, and another friend who emailed her novel to any interested parties. So those are two options I'm aware of. (A third option would be what I did in the past: hoard it to myself because it is too terrible for anyone else to see...)

› favorite pairing: I have watched so much TOS that my kneejerk response is Kirk/Spock, although McCoy can come too. For the reboot, though, it becomes Spock/Uhura, but Kirk can come too. OT3s for all!
› favorite episode: Oh god, I love so many! I think The Naked Time wins, though.
› unpopular opinion: In reboot, I just want Kirk and McCoy to be friends! If you ship them, really, more power to you, that's awesome, but I just want them to be BFFs.

I never show anyone my Nano novels. I posted it to a writing journal one year and like no one read it and it was so cringe-inducing and awful that I deleted it from the face of the earth and never let anyone read any Nano stuff ever again. Really, I just don't need the pressure.

You can do whatever you want with your writing, the same as you would with your fanfic. It's yours, after all.

› favorite episode: Shattered/Asylum! It is very closely tied with both Nemesis and Fracture, though, if only because they are excellent episodes in fairly awful seasons. Oh, and Heat is my comfort crack episode.
› unpopular opinion: I really, really hate Jonathan Kent. Actually, I don't know if that's an unpopular opinion, but I'm under the impression that wanting to clock the hero's dad every time he's onscreen is not the correct reaction.

Re: NaNovel distribution, I'm a big fan of locked journals, because it allows for dialogue in the comments section without the added pressure of the email sitting in one's inbox. However you decide to do it, though, count me among the interested!

There are legitimate reasons not to like Molly, because she is flawed in ways that aren't really larger-than-life and thus easier to stomach. (Hence why her being an overly possessive motherhen of Harry is kind of irritating, but Albus manipulating the hell out of everybody ever is awesome.) Of the Weasley parents, Arthur is clearly best. XD

I think my least favorite character is Shift the Ape from The Last Battle. Which is the one book that I really really hate, because OMG, C.S. LEWIS, MUSLIMS ARE NOT DEMON WORSHIPERS, AND EVICTING SUSAN WAS NOT COOL, AND KILLING OFF YOUR HEROES AND SENDING THEM TO HEAVEN IS NOT AN UP ENDING!
