it's not quite the world cup, but it's a close second
SO THERE'S THIS SHOW ABOUT A DUDE WITH A TIME MACHINE OR SOMETHING? I DON'T KNOW. I HEAR IT'S PRETTY GOOD, THOUGH.
I don't know if I loved this one as much as the Van Gogh one, because it didn't make me sob the way that one did, but this one was solid, it was actually the right length this time, and it made me feel fuzzy and happy. I think this has quickly become one of my comfort eps, with just the right amount of scary and silly and self-knowingly sappy. And probably some other S words?
I do not really have any deep thoughts about it, but I do want to state categorically that I was already suspecting it, but this week I know down to my soul that I am madly in love with Eleven. I mean, I must be, because I was really sad when he stopped being naked, and I am hugely fond of the little moles on his neck. Less shallowly, I just loved all his attempts to be human; I've said it before and I'll say it again, but he's very good at being old, and also at being alien -- he has the time of his life at the football match, and it doesn't occur to him that he might be hurting Craig's feelings, not because Eleven is uncaring, but because it wouldn't be the sort of thing he'd think would matter. I also love how he has chemistry with everyone (I want adorable awkward Eleven/Craig kissing fic, stat) and at the same time thinks that the appropriate thing to yell in the event of a girlfriend or boyfriend is "I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS!" Bless.
Obligatory moment of being very disappointed that the space ship upstairs wasn't the Master's TARDIS. It was totally the Master's TARDIS, right? I'm almost definitely writing that fic.
Next week: I am not jazzed by the return of EVERYTHING EVER OMG, but I am excited about my space girlfriend, and also I wouldn't be really adverse to Time War Redux. Who knows! I'm excited anyway. AND THEN IN TWO WEEKS THE SEASON WILL BE OVER AND I CAN WRITE ELEVEN FIC. :D

also. also also, i am SO happy you are able to articulate so many of the things i think during an episode, because i am really bad at paying attention long enough to write these things down. so once again, YES. THIS. except that i thought the crisis resolution was complete handwavey fairytale bullshit, but whatever. THE REST OF IT WAS A FUCKING BLAST. matt smith continues to impress me. and i LOVE it. HE IS SUCH A THE DOCTOR.
