Jfc I totally just watched the Stargate Atlantis pilot and it was a HUGE MISTAKE because I am full of due South levels of happyglow.

Really, though. John Sheppard is my boyfriend! I friendship him and Teyla so hard, and I leadership him and Weir more than I thought I would, and I am preemptively brokenhearted about both Weir and Ford, augh. (But then there is Ronon! Am I planning to skip like half of s1 in order to get to Ronon faster & have lots of TEAM? Why yes probably!) I am almost helpless to not watch the second episode right now because that's the one with the personal shield and John throwing Rodney off balconies and things! John's speshul speshul Ancient gene and the way the city wants to date him make me so happy. Wraith and their wacky organic hiveships make me so happy. (I want Wraith hiveships and Cylon basestars to hang out.) In conclusion I am screwed, not least because I was (am!) resolutely not taking any TV with me over Thanksgiving break.

I really am completely incoherent about this. When it is a more reasonable hour I'm sure my priorities will be saner and not include things like "Make a list of all the episodes that are not actually skippable." Even when it is a more reasonable hour, though, I'm pretty sure my priorities will still include "Write lots of Sheppard/Kowalski puddlejumper sex," but I think that's okay.

Question! Are there particular episodes that you think I should watch? I went through and made my own list, which covers all five seasons and comes to 29 episodes total and is compiled with complete ignorance re: s5. I am interested in good team interaction and am not much concerned with Wraith and am even less concerned with Replicators, if that helps.

I'm the other way round. I am totally in love with Fraser and I have some inkling of what it might be like, to be like him, but I'm just not. To be fair, I identify with fanon!Rodney an order of magnitude more than canon!Rodney, but I encountered the SGA fanon long before I watched the show so that puts a different spin on everything for me. *g*

Haha, yes. Meg and Elizabeth hang out sometimes and have coffee together and carefully don't talk about the burdens of leadership. And Weir is very happy for them, in a slightly less bemused way than everyone else.

...Turnbull's not allowed on Atlantis, right?

By the way, I've figured out how both Fraser and Thatcher end up on Atlantis -- Thatcher requests it, obviously, and meanwhile instead of sending Fraser to Chicago, the RCMP exiles him to another damn galaxy -- but I don't know [a] if anyone else from dS would be on the expedition, and [b] why the hell Ray Kowalski's there. Or even what he does. You don't need a Chicago detective for this. Is it a world where he joined the military instead, and when he divorces Stella, instead of going undercover he joins the expedition? That almost makes sense! (By which I mean help, help, I want to plan a huge plotty crossover fic and want your input!)

Eeee, Ray in the military! That would totally make sense, especially if instead of becoming an attorney Stella went into international diplomacy or something (because their careers were always sort of in the same field, although Stella was the high-flier and Ray was the guy on the frontline). And when they divorce and he's wondering what the hell to do with his life, Stella's old pal Dr Elizabeth Weir happens to mention that her really crazily far-away expedition is accepting applications for military transfers and of course Stella won't be coming now but she thought she'd pass on the message to Ray anyway, just in case…

Of course, if Ray's dad hated the thought of Ray becoming a cop, he liked the Army idea even BETTER. And OF COURSE, Sheppard knows a kindred spirit when he sees one. :D:D:D

dssdfdkds I want to marry your brain, omg. That completely makes sense! And makes me want to ship Sheppard/Kowalski EVEN MORE. Meanwhile ... would Meg actually be on the expedition? I mean, she'd be affiliated with the Stargate program somehow, but if she couldn't have Weir's position I'm not sure what she'd do.

Also, okay, I'm just cheating now, but find me a beautifully elegant way for Fraser to get hooked up with Stargate. Unless "exiled to Pegasus instead of Chicago" is good enough.

Meg, I'm not sure about…unless, as it's sorta AU, instead of Simon breaking up with Weir he asks her to marry him and she transfers back to Cheyenne Mountain in some form of advisory capacity and visits on the Daedalus. There must be a way to involve all the awesome female characters in leadership roles at the same time! There must!

I suspect that if Fraser's superiors had had the option to exile him to Pegasus in canon dS, they totally would have. Especially if Thatcher were already there; if anyone can deal with him, she can, and if she can't, hell, they're in space! No one can hear her scream!
