tis the season (of everything happening at once)

+ I am signed up for Yuletide! I offered ten fandoms, and apparently both previous years I have only offered five. Either I am gaining fannish confidence or it's just that all of Canadian fandom is kind of obscure. (I am guessing the latter.) I see a few people have already put up their letters, but it is still perfectly kosher to wait until assignments go out, right?

- I am breaking up with Flash Forward. And no, it's not because CKR was only there for five minutes and also evil blah blah I am very tired of that, although it didn't help. It's more how they've had sexuality fail and racefail now, and when I discover that Eastwick is a lot better for my blood pressure than any other show airing on a US tv channel right now, I think it's time to step away from the television.

+/- Bits of my flist are starting to talk about Bitching Party. I am full of so much yearning jealousy! I am hesitant to tell myself "there is always next year" because, while I won't be in school, I'll still be halfway across the country and hopefully gainfully employed. But that's what requesting time off ahead of time is for, right? Ahhh entering the stage of my life where I can conceivably be fannish in a mobile way! Anyway. There's always next year. And I am going to WisCon, so that's all right.

+ SO MUCH TO WRITE. Those of you who have foolishly volunteered to look at the F/K/V AU? I'm probably going to stop dithering and send the first part out tonight. Whee writing.

I missed Eastwick on Wednesday, and now when I go to ABC.com and Hulu.com I find absolutely no Eastwick! I mean, I understand that perhaps America isn't as excited as we are about a show centered on women's relationships, but... couldn't they give us a whole season? I was so frustrated I almost cried.

Good to know re: Flashforward, I won't bother watching that ep even for CKR.

I have some internet fairies at work on it at home, but thank you for the offer! Of course I would have much preferred to watch it on ABC.com so they could have the benefit of knowing I watched it and the commercials and all that, but... no.

I've started watching Eastwick and I blame you. I've only seen the past two episodes, but already I am hooked. Please tell me there is a fandom and it has femslash.

Hee! :DDD I feel strangely triumphant. (Episodes 3 & especially 4 are less than stellar, but 5 gets better, and 6 and 7 are both kind of excellent. Absolutely stick with it if the first two have you hooked.)

There does not seem to be much of a fandom, but there is eastwick_fic -- which so far seems to have basically nothing -- and wintercreek wrote Then I'll Take Care of You, which is Roxie/Kat/Joanna and one of my favourite things. That's about all besides a couple of due South crossovers (I ... really want to do one myself) but Yuletide seems to have fic promise -- ten requests and twenty-three signups, even, which is fantastic. :)

Ahh, sorry, I was less than clear. I still haven't seen any of the first episodes, just the two most recently aired. I was DVRing something else and saw Eastwick, and between your reviews and Paul Gross, I gave in to temptation to try it out. And then I was hooked by all the awesome ladies.

Aha! Well, you saw two pretty damn fabulous episodes, then, but even earlier when the writing was a bit more clunky and uneven, it is good fun, and I imagine it'll be especially enjoyable if you already care about the women. :D

And there are two dS crossovers! Due East, in which everyone in Eastwick mistakes a bewildered Fraser for Darryl, and Situational Ethics, which is Darryl/RayK with very tricksy Fraser. It's all very awesome.
