Behold, a Cliche Bingo card!



I am even more wildly excited than I might've been, because apparently the response to Cliche Bingo was much greater than the admin expected and they're now cutting off assignments at 400 cards. I am kind of shakingly glad to have made it under the wire, which is kind of silly, but apparently I really care about these silly fic prompts.

At a glance I already see two lines for which I could easily fill in all the squares (hint: they both have the "Families" square in; hello, the excuse I was looking for to write kidfic!) and I kind of love how I see the free square in the middle and immediately think that it must be a section of the cover of Sword of Desire, that romance novel Frannie keeps around.

I kind of want to do a blackout of the card, though. Ahaha. (I am kind of sad I got "tentacles" because really? this is the closest I ever want to get to doing fannish things with tentacles, and I can't really believe I linked it again anyway.) The best part is that not everything on here can be due South fic, so if I want to do a blackout (25 fics? before August 31? WHY NOT) I will have to produce some other things too. \o/

(oh christ I didn't know what to do with the high school/college au and now I think that this is where I write this ridiculous thing I never meant to write about how everyone from the bsg cast gets reincarnated in nyc and leoben lives down the hall from kara and tries to date her because he thinks she's ~special~ and she is so bewildered by it. WHY.)

The hilarious thing is that one of the bingos I could do is a postage stamp one, ie doing four prompts in an adjacent square and sticking them all in one fic. So in theory I could do a character study in someone who is in a dystopian high school AU with ROBOTS. HOW RIDICULOUS AND KIND OF AWESOME WOULD THAT BE.

*dying* Well, it is possibly this, and possibly that when you say "sensory deprivation," I flashback to a formative experience with a Tom Clancy novel that involved a Russian spy being subjected to total sensory deprivation and then GOING CRAZY!!!!!!

Um I am trying to think of fandoms this would work in, and weirdly all I am coming up with, possibly because it is the most hilarious possible fandom, is the entire Slings & Arrows cast stuck in high school in a robot-ruled dystopia. HOW WILL GEOFFREY PERFORM SHAKESPEARE NOW?? (Although I realize I seriously have no idea whether you've ever seen S&A. I feel like Emma or I would've insisted at some point during high school, but I dunno.)

(Although Juilliard Darren Nichols does his best to introduce pyrotechnics to Hamlet.) But it is absolutely worth watching, and it will only eat up two more episodes of your time than Life on Mars did!

Yes! I am really ridiculously excited. I may also be envious of your ability to write ficlets, because while I can manage short fic for other things, I am still at the stage of writing due South where almost every idea I have wants to come out 10,000+ words. (Hee, F/V tentacle!fic. Oh my brain. I have no idea what I am going to do with my tentacle prompt, especially since I try to think of anything at all and start having insistent flashbacks to a joke my friends had all of last semester about how CKR is a tentacle monster. Not helpful. XD)

Welll, in the Big List O' Cliches, it is under "plot devices," so I suppose there is a HORRIBLE EPIDEMIC and our heroes are trapped alone together! I am unsure but if I am doing a blackout I will think of something.
