Peter Wingfield D:

Unrelatedly, it is fascinating how much the different pictures affect who I find attractive and who I don't. For example, the last few days I've been distinctly unmoved by Katherine Hepburn, but today all of a sudden I went OH HEY. (unfortunately for her, that's not enough for her to get over the bias I have developed over the last two days...)

Well I was gonna vote off Katharine Hepburn like I said, but that picture is too pretty, so I had to vote off Zooey instead.

I see you're making John Simm be the serial killer on this go-round. :D It's all about balance.

How can Zooey Deschanel be WINNING? She's so ridiculously pretty!

(If I was having any doubts over my queerness, they're being assuaged by how much more invested I am in the girl's poll than the boy's one...)

But- But- But every day there are fewer of them! If you didn't make us choose, every day there could be twenty beautiful pictures!

My logic, it is flawless.

I think the pictures definitely have a big effect on who people are voting for. I find Zooey way too precious, but this is the first time you posted a picture of her that actively annoyed me. *is so lookist*

Anyway, given your flist I'm pretty sure we'll end up with Martha and Amy duking it out (I will be helping that happen), so it almost doesn't matter in which order everyone else gets voted off.

Changed my vote to CKR out of SPITE.

Yeah, I don't really know why I was so invested in that tiebreaker. But NOOOOOOOO :(

Jon Simm is surrounded by... fans in that picture? Like, the metal kind. Maybe they were planning on doing the hair-blowing-back thing before and then realized he doesn't have enough hair? Vienna Teng is much prettier when she is singing! And RDJ looks like he hates everything.

I have actually never seen a Katharine Hepburn movie! I take it you think I should rectify this....

I covet Ellen Page's dress and belt.

The inclusion of Katharine Hepburn makes me want to do an all-vintage version of this poll. But I suspect that would just come down to "who of these people have you ever heard of" which would knock out somewhat more obscure people like Louise Brooks. Which just wouldn't be fair, because goddamn, Louise Brooks.

...And then I got distracted looking at pictures of Marilyn. As usual.

Well Lion in Winter is already basically at the TOP of my to-watch list of movies, on account of ELEANOR OF ACQUITAINE, and also your previous enthusiastic recommendations of it. So now it is even more of a priority, obviously!

The Philadelphia Story is also now on my to-watch list, and looks like fun.

And yeah, screwball comedies are...often not the best for me. But it depends!

I hope I will enjoy them (and Katharine Hepburn) too! I am sure I will though. They sound excellent.

OH MY GOD.

Yeah, fix it. Her purring enunciation and heavy-lidded skepticism hold a lot of her appeal.

PS ALSO SHE WENT TO BRYN MAWR SO /SEVEN SISTERS

Okay, I had been unmoved by Idris Elba the past two days, but GODDAMN. Vote changed to CKR, also out of spite.

Why are David Tennant and Ewan McGregor winning today? I have concluded that your flist is full of very strange people.

HAVE NO FEAR! A fix is in the plans!

(the meaning of your Bryn Mawr comment, though, eludes me...)

[personal profile] paperpenguin 2011-03-07 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
It means I have a slight added bias of Alma Mater kinship because my mother went to Bryn Mawr, and I went to Mount Holyoke (and at least one person reading this went to Smith). :3

(Pst - if it helps, my favourite insane history Prof thinks Lion in Winter is worth a watch, for the comedic historical inaccuracies if nothing else. He even made us watch one of the scenes with Hepburn during class.)

This is the most agonizing game of this I have ever played. The ladies poll is going to make me cry at some point. Also, I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR LEE PACE. NEVER.

Noooooooo PETER WINGFIELD. :(

I appreciate that I have not changed my vote in three rounds! STILL UNATTRACTIVE, EWAN MCGREGOR. Although this picture of Zooey is so adorable I almost couldn't vote for her, except then there were all the other ladies.

Should I send you all my pictures of Idris? Actually I don't have that many, but some of them are smoking! Actually all of them are smoking, this is Idris Elba we're talking about.

I HAVE NO IDEA. It will probably depend on the pictures, but I'll tell you this much: KATE HEPBURN IS MY #1.

They are all VERY VERY PRETTY! But I would totally have ranked Zooey among the top two or three. I very much expected her to make it half way at the least!

Also, I have discovered the "change your vote" function. And am now using it to frantically vote ANYONE BUT DAVID TENNANT. Your flist needs to re-evaluate their priorities. *sage nod*
