Of course, this impression is made all the stronger because I have a woods behind my house. I expect some of the trees are reporting me to the White Witch for taking pictures even as we speak.

We actually do have a lamp-post! It's in the driveway, though, when really it should be out back in the woods. :) (Hah! I am unsurprised. The East Coast often has ridiculous weather like this.)

Oh, gorgeous! I envy you your backyard; we have piles of snow now and more falling, but my back yard is a scrubby little urban thing, and the great maples along the back fence aren't enough to make up for the way it stops at such a sudden boundary. But yours is perfect for a snowfall!

I do not envy you your snow-clearing infrastructure, though. Oof. I hope it clears up soon, lovely or not, after you've had a little while to enjoy being snowed in!

Thank you! And yeah, the lot behind the house is a little patch of undeveloped woods, which does make it gorgeous when it snows. :)

Happily most of it has melted now, so the lack of snowplows has not doomed us!
