won't want for love
Real life update pending, to be made at a point when I have done some sorting out of all the homesickness and joy and relief I'm dealing with, and possibly also at the point when I have even become close to glutting the need I have to just sort of mash up happily against my friends and not stop hugging them. In the meantime I have nefarious plans to go into town for hot chocolate and Pamela Dean's Tam Lin, because I am a bit of a masochist sometimes.
Also, a meme:
Out of utter curiosity, if I was chained up in your attic/study/basement/library/secret lair, and I had to write you one story, what would you request? (demand?) Or alternatively, what's something you always hoped I'd write but know is never going to happen?

TINTIN FIC, GOD DAMN IT. I know you can do it best, and I want to fucking see it, because even the notes made me flail with joy.

A due South/Highlander crossover, where after the quest Fraser goes back to Canada and Ray stays in Chicago. Oh no! Then Ray dies and wakes up Immortal, MacLeod turns up for some reason as does Methos. (You can't have Highlander without Methos, except maybe for Amanda-centric stories.) Fraser comes for the funeral and is all woe and Fraser. Hijinks happen, because how can they not?

A Doctor Who/Highlander/Young Wizards/Due South crossover where Fraser is an Immortal (and NOT happy about it, as the Game is highly repellent to his sense of right and wrong); Ray's supposed death is more convincing than Fraser's real one; Fraser is trying to investigate a number of cat burglaries (which involve Amanda and a very bored Methos who is hoping fervently that MacLeod will not find out) and a number of bizarre disappearances and deaths for which the Immortals are not responsible but that the Doctor--who is called in by Tom and Carl, who listen to their oracular koi--knows the cause of and the cause is not good for the people of Earth at ALL. And it will take the Doctor, Fraser, Ray, Amanda, Methos, Tom, Carl to save the planet. Also, there is Benedict Cumberbatch Master...who claims that he is not behind the disappearances and deaths (true) and that he is therefore not doing anything dire on this planet at all, my dear Doctor (immensely false).
And there is Fraser/Ray, and Tom/Carl, and Doctor/Master, and Methos flirting with Fraser AND Ray, and Amanda flirting with EVERYBODY.
And it is funny and suspenseful and intelligent and EPIC.

And to be honest, if I didn't already have a worrying number of alarmingly novel-length WIPs on my hard drive, I would totally write this one.

The image is from a meme I've been working on, on and off - graphics for five stories I'll never write. This one is Stargate: Perdition, an SG AU in an SPN!verse in which the ascended Ancients are angels, the Orii demons, and the Earth overrun when the SGC literally opens the gate to Hell. Set on Atlantis, this is the story of an unlikely gate team: Draco Malfoy (HP), a young wizard in exile after being on the wrong side of a magical civil war; Robert Chase (House), a former seminarian, lapsed Catholic, cardio-thoracic surgeon; Julian Sark (Alias) a spy, and sometime follower of the Prophet Rambaldi; and headed by John Constantine (Constantine) a sorcerer and exorcist.
That's what I'd have you write.
Oh, and another image from SG:P (just because):
(Also, I'd kind of ship the hell out of Malfoy/Chase...)
