Ahahaha oh you. <333 Mid-90s-era sci-fi is not very pressing, no, but maybe I can PEER PRESSURE you into it by promising, like, lots of fics and meta? It's just. *flailyhands* It's great about its women, its plots are incredibly epic, at least 90% of the time it gives you that amazing narrative payoff that you only wish telly would give you, and it has an aesthetic that is weirdly remeniscent of Lord of the Rings and gets me where I live.
