It is fairly circumstantial, especially the part where PDFs aren't opening anymore -- in fact I'm 95% sure that it's an entirely different issue -- but the pop-ups are definitely LJ's, even if the problems that happened directly after might not have been related.

I definitely understand re: very few places on the internet being genuinely safe, though. Sigh.
