Okay, when I say Thor 2 was bad I mean that like ... I kind of love it, but also it is a kind of rubbish plot wrapped around an awesome road trip, and while I also find it more consistently watchable than Thor 1, I don't think it's very good.
I wish I could see this movie with EVERYONE, I wish I could gather all my friends who care about Thor and hang out with them in a theater and laugh and cry laughing and have emotions! And RIGHT, it was SO GRIM but also so ridiculous and hopeful and refusing to give into its own grimness! I really loved that.
Yesssss THOR IS AMAZING AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. Like, I in fact talked myself into loving him by writing Find a Home from his POV and you really can't write 100k of a character without learning to love them at least a bit, but I loved this movie for bearing that love out. And also for the lightning!!
Oh Cate Blanchett is SO GOOD, she was so understated in her comedy and still made me laugh so hard, A++ being terrifying and poised and still hilarious :DDD
I AM going to write a story! I already have like 500 words of it but I'm slightly stalled out on it until I can watch the movie again (tomorrow morning, lol) and take notes because I need to know the order of things and what my emotional through-line is! Like, I absolutely still ship Thor/Loki but their relationship has evolved SO MUCH that I sort of need to ... rethink the way in which I might get them together? Which is AWESOME, I am so pleased to not just be writing the same dynamic with additional canon.
