It is ... very, very well-written, and says cool things about imperialism and the light=good dark=bad thing that happens in some mythology and it has really wonderful characters and a fascinating world, and it is kind of dark and violent sometimes but mostly it is VERY GOOD, and a bit perfect for me. (F'rinstance the dark god reminds me a bit of the myth Loki that exists in my head only BETTER, to give you some idea why I love it.)
