As usual I open the update window, stare at it, and wonder how I used to update nearly every day in college. (This may be rhetorical; the answer is that in college I was much more in the habit of constant writing, and tumblr drift wasn't a thing, and also my life had more variety, or maybe this winter has just been crushingly awful. I should possibly make a resolution to post every day? Habits!) I'm sure I have exciting life things to talk about, but fuck it, I've been up since four this morning, and it's been 2009 since I last did this meme, which means I can do it again!
1. "That is a superhero team that could use more ladies," Darcy observes over breakfast.
2. In his dream Alan stood at the window, staring straight into the sun.
3. Loki has been on Midgard for three days now, and he is beginning to think that Thor will not come.
4. The first few days Thor is back on Midgard, he assists his fellow Avengers in the fight against a purple-skinned madman from another world, and there is much to do; but eventually their foe is overcome, and they return to Stark's tower for rest, which is when Thor makes an uncomfortable discovery: exhausted as he is, he cannot sleep.
5. "So have you two been together long?" Anathema asked.
6. Annie couldn't tell if Troy and Abed were dating.
7. The words came to Ronan as though he was having an idea.
8. Deanna is four years old when her mom dies.
9. In the aftermath of the war, Harry sits with Ginny in the shade of a beech tree by the lake.
10. In the room beneath the world, one moment is much like another.
11. The first time Darcy meets him, it is in a dying autumn after the strangest summer of Darcy's short life.
12. Something in Loki is flawed beyond fixing.
13. Jessie Pond Williams has the most amazing friend in the whole universe.
14. Alan was in the middle of making breakfast when the wave of pain hit.
15. Sometimes, Meg Thatcher reasoned, a kiss could only happen in a certain place under a particular set of circumstances.
16. After Alexa turned away from him in the rain, Methos didn't try to kiss her again.
17. Neal knew he was getting somewhere the first time Peter and Elizabeth kissed in front of him.
18. Bran dreamt of the Mari Llwyd.
19. Alan wasn't afraid of Nick the way other people were, but he was still afraid.
20. Far ahead, Ronan could see light.
21. Methos wondered, idly, when MacLeod was going to kick him out this time.
...15-17 are expansions upon kissing ficlets; I don't usually have that much kissing in first lines! Uh, things I do have: lots of feelings about Avengers and Alan Ryves, apparently! As usual I identify the POV character in the first line nearly all the time, and I also really like setting up time and place, although less than I used to, I think. I like this meme a lot.
