I think my problem with these films is that I just want an entire movie full of character moments, and the plot keeps getting in the way of that dream. This movie bored me a little because a) it's really just the setup for the two-hour-long action sequence that comes out in July, and b) not enough characters not named Harry, Ron, or Hermione. The problem with that is that I agree with you that the trio finally seemed like themselves mostly because they had time for those moments. So if we could have had all their bits, *plus* Neville and Ginny and Luna and Remus and Snape and the whole rest of the wizarding world, and about 90% less plot, it would have been my ideal movie. (That said, this was the first movie where I didn't spend every scene wailing in my head about how much better it would be if Hermione was actually Hermione and not the pale imitation of her Emma Watson has been portraying. She's still not quite Hermione, but she's much better in this one.)
